I downloaded the new Mapbook file for arcview 9.3 for vista and I am still having problems. I clicked on the install file. The computer asked me to verify the program and hit continue. I did so, it went back to the install screen. I saw some sentences scrolling. The program then asks for me to press any key. I did that. I then opened ArcMap and the extension was not there or available under the toolbars. Please help. #44

Please read issue#16, issue#34 and issue#40. There are some workaround there
which
have worked for others installing on Vista, maybe they'll work for you.

The new MapBook file that I downloaded is supposed to contain the new
Install.bat
file for the Vista work around. It didn't work. Do you ahve any additional
suggestions?

Thank you

Does the new install.bat file you mention have the location of REGSVR32.exe
hardcoded? I installed Map Book 9.3 on a Vista machine after making the
alteration
(as suggested by an ESRI Forum post) and it worked.

I solved issues I have had installing on Vista by running the command prompt as
an
administrator (ie right click - then run as administrator) and then running the
updated Install.bat
Running the Install.bat as an administrator from Windows does not work (ie right
click Install.bat then run as administrator) - you need to run the command
prompt as
an admin. (Note this is the case even if I am actually logged on as an admin)
This is obviously some permission's issue we have, but might be relevant to
others...
