Would it be possible to add alsa and mpd?

They idea is to use directly the ns-k330 as a music player. Then the player can 
be controlled from any of the many clients available (even for mobiles).

I have personally just ordered this device purely to work with mpd, and 
hopefully I can get it working with mpd. I'll be using a USB sound card 
(audinst hud-mx1 to be exact) to do this. I have some experience in coding, but 
this is still kinda new, hopefully if it's not there already I can work 
something out.

I wanted to do something similar for a while too, but haven't had much luck yet.

I'm using a cheap c-media based usb speaker. The best I managed to output so 
far was some stuttering noise that vaguely resambled what I was trying to play.
