[x] pilot projects include multiple individual donor activities
[x] pilot projects again belong to a parent donor-activity or other activity type (e.g. basel convention)
[x] individual donor activities have additional sub-activities (sufficient to list in description)
[x] in addition to principal donors (that are linked to the pilot project), activities can have implementing partners as additional actors (see #63)
[x] pilot projects may not have a specific responsible actor but may instead be driven by another activity (such as a convention or initiative)
[x] target countries/recipients are often specified for individual activity but could potentially (in addition or alternatively) be related to the parent pilot project

challenges include

3-level hierarchy of activities
making sure derived relationships with actors/targets for parents and/or children are properly displayed (and e.g. also not counted multiple times)
dealing with activities without actors (or where "actors" are in fact other "activities")

to clarify:

are donor amounts specified on individual activities only (and summed up for parent pilot projects) OR can they be specified independently both for pilot project and individual child activities? (need to make sure they are not double counted)

clarifications:

donor amounts to be specified both on all projects AND individually (no automatic aggregation for now)
projects can only ever have one parent-project (a project can have many child-projects)
no additional project-project relationship is required for projects that is "driven" by another project (instead of an actor)
a new taxonomy "project type" to be used to differentiate "pilot projects" from "\other donor activities"

should we introduce further project types to classify other types of donor activities, e.g. "children of pilot projects"?
should we include targets for activities that normally do not have targets, but their child activity may?
how to deal with children of activities of different type? e.g. a when a donor activity has a non-donor child activity, the actors and targets are shown as donors and recipients on map. maybe for now a hint next to the setting can indicate that the map may show actors and targets of different knowledge category
~~more fitting under "initiatives" than under "donor activities"? (can enable $ field for initiatives)~~

will likely want to show target countries of recipients on institution page (eg GIZ) show "targets of targets"):
