Enhancement: CalDAV support #1

Open jelle619 opened 4 years ago

I was wondering whether support for integrating any calendar with a CalDAV URL is being considered. Since CalDAV is universal, it would in one go add support for a lot, if not most calendar services all at once. Personally, I would like to see this feature because I use my own Nextcloud server myself.

One important thing to consider with CalDAV is to consider there are two types of URLs:

A universal link includes multiple, likely all, calendars attached to the account. This is great if you want to add all of your calendars (e.g. personal, work and study) all at once to isBusy. However, there are also single calendar URLs which only include one calendar. Being able to add either one would be great!

Thanks in advance.

@jelle619 this is really interesting! Let me take a a look at effort and add it to the roadmap - I think this would be a great option for the grab-bag of other calendar types out there! :) tracking issue here: https://github.com/markthethomas/isbusy/projects/1#card-41028716

Thanks for the feedback and I hope you find the app useful! 🤗

Thanks for looking into it! isBusy is definitely useful to me, but it a little more so if it could support CalDAV because I use Nextcloud instead of Google/Microsoft for my calendering needs.

Totally get that! I'll try to get this built out in the next week or so 🤞

Any updates? I would love to try out the feature. :)

Hey! I haven't had a chance to get to this yet (pretty busy spell w/ family + work over the last two months) but should have more time soon as things have calmed down. Thanks for checking back in on this and I appreciate the ideas! 😄
