Remove Lightning effect for OP's #355

Closed reno911unlocred closed 11 years ago

So, i know the permissions nodes, i know that you have to enable a permission node to allow someone to have permission to use anything on the plugin, but the problem is that i am the OP, and all the permissions are given to me by default and i just HATE using /v t lightning every time i get in the server to be able to use /v to unvanish without the lightning effect... how i can disable the lightning effect for op's?

mbax commented 11 years ago

OP does not get the lightning effect. You gave yourself the * node which is explicitly stating you want every single node in every plugin even the ones that plugin authors think OP shouldn't get (like lightning). Remove that, keep your OP status, problem solved :)

But i don't even have a node for ops, just for admins mods and users... i know the * permission gives every node of a plugin (if enabled) but as op, it automatically gives you all the permissions... when i install any new plugin, i automatically get every node on it just by installing it, that is what is happening here, a little help would be appreciated instead of instantly closing the ticket...

op does not give you every permission.

op gives you nearly every permission. Plugins can define nodes that do not get given to ops. That is precisely what I do in VanishNoPacket. I can join a server as op with VNP running and only get a handful of nodes :)

You have the * node, or your permissions plugin is somehow royally screwing up permissions.

To clarify about closing - I know for certain, after extensive testing, that op only gets certain nodes if defined by the plugin. Your issue is one with your permissions config so I closed it for not being a vnp issue. I'm still happy to help you resolve your problem. :)

Well... I don't know what else to tell you except, yes i have all the nodes and i have not given that to my self or OP's, what would you think beginning with that? If it wasnt me then how i got that permission... i use groupmanager to handle permissions... any thoughts on that?

Hello, may I suggest something? I've noticed that some permission handling plugins have this weird option to grant all nodes to OPs. Maybe that's the case?

What permissions plugin do you use? On 19 Mar 2013 02:53, "reno911unlocred" notifications@github.com wrote:

That doesn't disable it
