How to open custom images in cityscapes Label Tool

I am executing cityscapesLabelTool.py file, and I have updated the path to the dataset, I am not getting error but images are not loading in tool,can you please help me to solve this issue.

This is a very late response, but i had the same question and figured out how to do it. So, for future reference:

• create an empty folder in gtFine/train/ (this is where the annotation results will be placed)
• create a folder with the same name in leftImg8bit/train

• your images need to be named with the suffix "_leftImg8bit.png" (note that this can be changed by modification of the code in cityscapesLabelTool.py line 286)

  # Image extension
  self.imageExt = "_leftImg8bit.png"

• the folder will then appear as a dataset in the "open dataset" choice dialog

You can rename the images using Windows or Linux Explorer or Nautilius GUI by selecting all the images and rename with the suffix.

This is for those who like to custom label the dataset with different names as given in cityscape.

C:\Users\waqar\Anaconda3\envs\cityscapesScripts\cityscapesscripts\annotation\cityscapesLabelTool.py at line 656 change the csPath = path to your custom dataset then on line 660 change the path to your custom groundTruth folder then on line 700 change the path to your custom Image folder The organisation of your custom data should be

• groundtruth
  • train/test/val
    • subfolder/city/anyname
• Image
  • train/test/val
    • subfolder/city/anyname You can also change the name of the image file from _Image8bit.png to *.jpg by changing line 286 self.imageExt = "_leftImg8bit.png" to ''.jpg'' You can add or delete the custom labels in labels.py. Make sure that you add a defualt class name in the cityscapesLabelTool.py. on line 362 self.defaultLabel = 'unlabeled'. The labelTool will generate a jason file. The Jason file need to be converted to trainid.png. For that you use /preperation/creaTrainIdLabelImgs.py change the image path on line 34 and the file extension on line 40 and 41 if required.
