Adding Meteonetwork stations #2

Open guidocioni opened 3 years ago

guidocioni commented 3 years ago

To improve the coverage over Italy (but also over France, Greece and some other European countries) I think it would be good to use some of the data from the Meteonetwork weather stations network (https://www.meteonetwork.it/rete/livemap/). Data is available through free APIs (https://www.meteonetwork.it/supporto/meteonetwork-api/) with CC-BY 4.0 license.

I'm part of the organization so we could maybe start a discussion for a mutual collaboration? :)

Looking forward to it

That's a great idea! I moved the issue into our data routines repo.

Let's chat about how we can establish a partnership 😉 I'll get in touch later this week.

Just as a heads-up: The Meteonetwork integration will be done. But there's a lot of stuff on the backlog. So it might take a few more weeks.

I don't mean to hurry you (of course :D) but just keep in mind that we just integrated weather stations from the mistral project (https://meteohub.mistralportal.it/app/datasets) into the Meteonetwork stations network. Mistral is a project trying to gather data from all the regional weather services in Italy. Now the coverage is way better almost everywhere besides Tuscany (still working on that) https://www.meteonetwork.it/rete/livemap/.

Nice. Didn't forget about that 😉
