This is based upon consumer feedback.

The submission_metadata table has these columns (among others):

source_client
status

`source_client`

Type is SUBMISSIONSOURCECLIENT; is nullable.

Values:

submission_portal
field_notes

`status`

Type is VARCHAR; not nullable.

Value:

in-progress
Submitted- Pending Review
(maybe others?)

The changes have been implemented in PR https://github.com/microbiomedata/nmdc-server/pull/1401 (awaiting review).

Hi @mslarae13, this is done. It's in the main branch of this repo, so it is already live in the development environment and will become live in the production environment when the next release happens (in mid-October).
