[SDK BUG] MASSIVE MOUSE BUG PLEASE FIX ASAP #142

We have had over 100!!! customer support tickets in the past week which is unusually high and getting us very worried as 23H2 / 24H2 gets rolled out even more

Describe the bug While in-game, the mouse cursor escapes the game context onto the second monitor which is really problematic. It basically makes the game unplayable.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Make sure Xbox Game Bar and Windows are up to date
  2. Plug in a second monitor
  3. Play game in Fullscreen mode
  4. Move your mouse around and watch it leave the game context onto the 2nd monitor's desktop
  5. Press on the second monitor to watch it essentially 'Alt tab' the player out of the game

Expected behaviorA clear and concise description of what you expected to happen. It should never leave the game context otherwise it essentially 'Alt tabs' the player out of the game.

It's happening on 24H2 as well and this is from the reddit thread;

"it's been working fine up until windows update installed KB5043178."

Thank you for reporting jurkog.

We got early reports of this through feedback hub and reddit posts as well. We forwarded the issue onto the Windows Input team and they have a fix checked in. The discussion happening now is which servicing release the fix can be rolled out in. I know they're trying to get it out ASAP.

This bug is causing so much stress as we're about to go into a really busy season (Fortnite OG Season & Christmas sales)

Is there any way this could be an out-of-band release? Something that doesn't require the normal 2-4 week release cycle for updates? This genuinely makes the game bar unusable for everyone playing games on multiple monitors.

Based on the information I have, the Windows team is pushing the fix out as fast as they can. Last I saw it was targeted for a servicing patch this month.
