@mikeal do you know what the resolution the projector(s) at Marines' Memorial Theatre will use?

mikeal commented 10 years ago

Nope, but I can find out.

@mikeal while you are finding that out, can you find out if the projector supports RCA. I need one video and one audio input. It would also be super helpful if I could have the NES next to me on stage, which would mean the inputs would be close to me, or I could get a cable long enough to reach the projector.

From the theatre:

Projector is a Panasonic PT-D5700. Resolution is 1,024 x 768. The only cable the theatre has is VGA, although there are a few different connectors on the projector itself. No RCA, though. I'll attach the spec file for the projector.

The full spec sheet says it has an S-Video and a DVI-D input.

Do we need to buy an RCA to S-Video adapter?

I'm getting a RCA to VGA adapter for this Thursday. I can tell you how it goes. But yeah I need something to RCA to hook up the nintendo.

emkay commented 10 years ago

I tried out a RCA to VGA adapter and it was terrible quality. Not sure if it was just a cheap adapter that was the problem. If it comes down to it, I can run it on an emulator on my laptop, but I would strongly prefer not to do that.

mikeal commented 10 years ago

i'll order some alternate adapters that we can try out before the event starts.

might need an upscaler. our AV person had one for component -> hdmi, but if the projector doesn't have hdmi it's probably not much help. I can borrow one just in case though.

mikeal commented 10 years ago

yeah, no HDMI on the projector.
