LDG codecs shouldn't use last 3 chars as the extension identifier #15

It should be the first 3 chars after the last dot.

I tried to write a codec that loaded *.BD (2 character extesnion) and it does not seem to work. I suspect zview sees the extension as ".BD" and not as "BD". Thus it seems related to this ticket.
