Archivist-made software that supports data migration from DV tapes into digital files suitable for long-term preservation. Snapshot daily builds are at https://mediaarea.net/download/snapshots/binary/dvrescue/.
hi, I'm trying to use dvrescue-gui (0.21.11.20220209) on a windows 7 pc with firewire to capture dv and my camcorder is not appearing whatsoever in the "transfer" tab. every time I open the software, it asks for the path to a "avfctl" tool that didnt appear to come with the software and I'm unsure where to get it, and on the "status logs" section of the debug tab the message "incorrectly typed command" is printed every second.
my camcorder appears just fine in windows as "JVC GR-DVL510A" and shows video with deck controls on amcap. not sure if i'm missing something obvious here
@Kenkoman I apologize for no one responding to this previously! Would you mind downloading the latest builds of the CLI and GUI and let us know if you are still experiencing this issue?
Hi @Kenkoman, windows 7 is in the plan, but it's not in the gui yet unfortunately. The gui should still be able to analyze and package dv though on windows.
