Huananzhi x99-TF community bios #116

I wanted to give you a heads up that you should probably remove the community bios with rebar. I have used it on two computers so far and has so many issues. Most recently on a TF, it caused the computer to freeze every time it loaded up on reboot. It was fine if you just shut down and started up from being off, but not if you rebooted.

Please provide more info about the issue. What is your motherboard revision, what is your original BIOS, what is the tested GPU, did you test the same BIOS but without ReBar?

I'm actually not entirely sure what revision x99-TF I have. I had rebar enabled and then reinstalled windows 11 using rufus's options to bypass tpm etc. I did not enable rebar after reinstalling, though. It happened both on windows 10 and 11 after i reinstalled. I'm using a 5700 XT, and tried ensuring I wasn't using windows driver. Once switching bios to miyconst optimized, it was able to reboot without any issue.

I'm actually not entirely sure what revision x99-TF I have.

Then there is not much I can do. The BIOS uploaded was personally tested by me and is currently used by my X99-TF with no reboot issues.

Once switching bios to miyconst optimized, it was able to reboot without any issue.

Please specify exact file names of the problematic and functional BIOS options.

uncledoody commented 5 months ago

The problematic bios was the huananzhi-x99-f8-tu.rb.cmnt.rom and the working bios was the huananzhi-x99-f8.mi8.rom.

I ran sort of the standard sfc and dism to make sure it wasn't system corruption, and I checked event viewer for anything out of the ordinary. Nothing was abnormal and after running sfc and dism it would still freeze a few seconds after reboot. I have another computer with an F8 that will not boot directly into windows because of the UEFI bug no matter what bios i use or what troubleshooting steps I take.. So I can't necessarily test it on that one. Is there an easy way to tell what revision you have?

Are you are talking about this BIOS: huananzhi-x99-f8.tu.rb.cmnt.rom?

If yes - thank you for the heads up. It's a community provided BIOS that I did not have a chance to test myself. Apparently that BIOS is not fully compatible with your setup.

Yes sir! I just wanted to give you a heads up! Miyconst optimized is working fine though!
