Volume Gain Adjustments do not work with Xonar AE Sound Card #8

When using a Xonar AE sound card the gain adjustments for Backbox, and Surround Channels do not affect a change in volume at the speakers. Everything appears to function normally (sliders move etc.), however no actual change in volume occurs. As a test I changed the max gain adjustment to 30dB, and moving the slider from +30dB to -30dB does not result in a volume change.
