spatial audio with airpods pro on mac #944

Spatial audio with airpods pro should work with any 5.1/7.1/atmos stream (according to e.g. https://www.whathifi.com/advice/what-is-apple-spatial-audio : "On the software side of things, as long as an app supports 5.1, 7.1 and/or Atmos, it will work with spatial audio."). I have enabled 7.1 audio stream in moonlight, but the "spatial audio" option in for airpods is greyed out (there is a note: "Not available").

I'm not sure whether this is supposed to work with current version or whether some changes are required, but since the technology is there, it'd be cool to have it available.

Agreed this would be amazing to have this support! I can't figure it out either.
