Feedback and notes for the Tech Reports and Scheduling Studio Session

• [x] 50 minutes might not quite be enough time for Asana tutorial. Maybe 70 minutes? But many students didn't seem to want to work on the chart development more than just an initial example of how it works.
• [ ] The tech report thing was cramped. Had to rush the end (started at about 25 after and continued to about 7 after). Last bit was rushed. Not quite enough time for students to look through both reports.
• [ ] Need to give structured questions when comparing the two memos.
• [ ] Could mention that the challenger disaster also had major communication issues. People knew about o-rings but it didn't get to the management (need to verify).
• [x] Many students said the reading quiz is a negative.
• [x] We need to create a diagram that dipicts a milestone with tasks and sub-tasks in Asana. This should label each item to correspond with the words used in the book and lecture: tasks, milestones, etc. It isn't clear to all of the students the exact structure that we are trying to get them to setup:
  • Asana sections = groups of tasks tied to a milestone
  • Instagantt tasks = tasks that can be done by one person or a super task that is broken up into subtasks that each are associated with one person
  • Instagantt subtasks = single person level tasks that are group under main task
  • Last task in group = convert it to a milestone marker to signfiy that that group of tasks is done, e.g. "Report Due".

Actually, this is the Columbia... not the Challenger.

I already talk about the Columbia disaster and Edward Tufte's analysis of the disaster. Someone mentioned after class today that the Challenger also had communication issues, which I didn't know about.
