Is this a sequel? I have the English release of the original, and I can't access the files to it because "LZ4 compression with linked blocks not supported," whatever that means? I'm guessing this game has the same issue.

It's the Chinese version of Maitetsu. BTW I can extract the English version from Fakku.

can't help you with this particular release. garbro already supports japanese and english versions.
