Stale image from before upgrade displayed when launching Firefox or unlocking screen on iPadOS 18

Steps to reproduce

I was not able to reproduce since it involves an OS upgrade but here are the steps that got me here:

Visit a page in Firefox in iPadOS 17.6
Upgrade to iPadOS 18
Launch Firefox
Observe that the last page visited on iPadOS 17.6 is displayed when the app launches or when unlocking the screen

Expected behavior

Current or no page displayed when launching Firefox

Actual behavior

Stale image of previously visited site displayed during app launch

Device: iPad Pro (11-inch) (3rd generation) iPadOS 18.0
Build version: Firefox 130.0 (44595)
First seen version: Firefox 130.0 (44595)

Additional detail: force quitting the app clears it up temporarily, but the stale image returns after locking and unlocking the screen

Also displays on app previews with multiple windows. Does not clear up with iPad restart or app force quit

Hello, Nishant BhasinI was not able to reproduce this but please note that I have only one iPad to iOS 18 because I cannot set all of them because testing requires more iOS versions. I will keep an eye out for this one and I will try basic checks on iOS 18 to see if I can reproduce any of the following things.

Not sure how I can help troubleshoot but I have the same issue.

My launch image on iPad is showing a tab I had open at some point but is long closed (don’t remember if it was during the upgrade to iOS 18 but that’s definitely possible) It’s quite annoying as it had strong flashy colors and jumps out every time…
