Hey there,

Really interested in your project and I'm sure it's going to lead to nice results.

But first, I would like to know what kind of data we're looking at and consider what's the quality of it.

Second if it's preprocessed what kind of package did you plan on using ? If not, I have good share of references for you which i will share at the bottom. These include Biosignal processing in python and Neurokit. These packages do preprocess and extract features out of ECG signals.

Third From a more psychophys point of view, I understood that you wanted to detect heart beats in order to compute RR-intervals and derive frequency-domain HRV metrics. Weren't you interested in getting time-domain HRV values and non-linear/complexity measures as well? I link here an amazing ref on methodological aspect of HRV measures : [https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29034226]

Neurokit : [https://neurokit.readthedocs.io/en/latest/] github- [https://github.com/neuropsychology/NeuroKit.py]

BioSPPy : [https://biosppy.readthedocs.io/en/stable/ ] github -[ https://github.com/PIA-Group/BioSPPy] ... sorry apparently i don't how to to put a link in my issue !

We could sit and exchange on the topic if you'd like. My project is exactly on preprocessing ECG data. I'm currently studying those packages

Hey!! I'd love to chat, this is actually very new to me-- I just got to start on this type of data this summer (and HRV is something I just looked up yesterday).

As for the data, its the raw PSG recordings converted to .EDF which include a number of EMG (Chin, Legs), EEG (F3,F4,C3,C4,O2,O1) and ECG. It's a full night sleep, so around 8 hours. The data aren't preprocessed from my understanding.

Thanks a lot for the references, that is actually very helpful!! But yes I am super free to chat, I am still figuring this out-- you can slack me!
