Cant install Particle reverb to g1four #5

Tried installing particle reverb. Says installed but cmd shows checksum error and App hangs.

mungewell commented 4 years ago

Is 'Particle' from the G5N?

I remember that there was speculation that some of the G5N effects require larger memory and/or the faster processor. Can't find a link at the moment....

Hmm yeah I'm getting the same issue with the Zoom G1X Four and all of the amps I've tried from the B3N driver. Checksum error and freeze.

mungewell commented 4 years ago

Can you please post a screen shot of the error and confirm which 'amp' you are trying to install. I'll try the same on my G1Four.

I thought at first it was because I'm running the program with WINE on Linux, but since I can install other effects and only the amps and preamp I tried had problems (Darkglass Pre), that must not be it.

Try taking effects from b1x four firmware

Try taking effects from b1x four firmware

That was actually what I tried first, but oddly enough the firmware that Zoom has on their page is for the G1 Four and G1X Four, even though it says B1 Four and B1X Four. They're labeled as such and everything, but when you load them in the firmware editor, all the effects are G1X effects.

I had complied a list of the effects from various F/W, it's here: https://github.com/Barsik-Barbosik/Zoom-Firmware-Editor/issues/12#issuecomment-523738661

The included XLS has the MD5 Checksums for each 'ZD2' file, so you can see where they are reused and/or different.

@whm3223 You don't need Wine, the tools is Python/WX based and was actually developed under Linux :-)

Yet to find time to check for myself....

Ah ok! I just figured it needed to be run with WINE after finding a .exe in the build folder.

If anyone has a copy of the actual B1 Four firmware, I'd love to try it out and see if those amps do work! Hopefully Zoom realize their mistake at some point.

Firmware is here: https://www.zoom-na.com/products/effects-preamps/bass/zoom-b1-four-b1x-four-bass-multi-effects-processors#downloads

But you might also be interested in this file.... the files it references are at the same URL. ;-) https://www.zoom.co.jp/archive/ZDLM/AllZDL3.lst

Unfortunately at this first link they still have the wrong driver file. Even though they're labeled B1 Four and B1X Four, their contents are the G1/X Four drivers.

Hmm you don't get a 403 Forbidden error at (for example) https://www.zoom.co.jp/archive/ZDLM/SVT_1U.zip ?

mungewell commented 4 years ago

not quite correct, URL root is given in file... http://www.zoom.co.jp/archive/ZDLM/ZDLF3/SVT_1U.zip

I have a some files on disk, but can't 'publish' them... 71bea98da8d1cb6e9cf6519a93034a20 ZOOM B1 FOUR System v1.10 Updater.exe cd69303a6071a016ee098eb3038280e7 ZOOM G1 FOUR System v1.10 Updater.exe

maybe the Japan site.. https://www.zoom.co.jp/products/effects-preamps/bass/b1-four-b1x-four-bass-multi-effects-processors#downloads

or archive.org might help.

Yes, we can't import particle reverb in to G1XFour

shooking commented 3 years ago

hi @githubguitargeek I am all ears - how to import the particle reverb please? I even had an eBAY auction bid for a g1on just incase - but that sound is great. I am hacking away at the G1XFour and B1XFour to find remote control sysex.

I ported Ctrlr to RPi3 a while back. And now I see in UK £200 21.5" 1080p 10 point touch screen that allegedly works on the PI ... if not windows. I am thinking that would allow me to make a decent Ctrlr panel and flexible control. Then I can pair in ESP32 bluetooth device to act as a page turner and on a 21" screen I bet the sheet music would look cool, plus finger tip control of the Zoom.

Early days but one has to dream. Would appreciate hints on how to import the Particles.
