:+1: There's a small set of backgrounds that I use often, and I agree that it would be nice to be able to get at them quickly. However, shouldn't this include both patterns and solid colors?

I can see several possible designs:

• There could be a "Favorites" tab in the background chooser (analogous to the one for brushes). The user would explicitly manage the contents of this tab.
• Or, in the grid of options in the "Patterns" tab, the top row could be separated from the rest of the grid by a horizontal line, and would show copies of the N most recently selected backgrounds. Here "selected" means that you've actually closed the background chooser while that background was active, indicating some degree of commitment to it.
