some aps don't update - gmail and weather stuck #793

I have the most recent version. Worked fine but now email and weather is stuck 
and doesn't update. Us there a way to dismiss hem? Gmail says one unread but 
there isn't. Weather stuck from a few days ago. Using moto x newest version. 

No custom launcher or rom
