My first thought here is for them to use a unique URL that they give to workshop attendees, e.g. http://kimittud.atlatszo.hu?utm_source=workshop-spring-2017 so that we then have a record of things that happened when that source was the entry point.

I'm not sure whether we can then cohort users by that source on an ongoing basis though.
