Troubleshooting Epub #92

I have an epub that I am trying to read, and that opens on MuPDF, but when I open it from a terminal using apvlv, it closes immediately and does not return any errors. I am using the gentoo e-build version, and I am still sort of new to gentoo, so please forgive me if it is not an apvlv related issue.

Edit: I am actually having issues with all epub files. Some open, but do not display anything. I get the error (apvlv:21566): Gtk-CRITICAL **: 16:55:49.568: gtk_adjustment_get_value: assertion 'GTK_IS_ADJUSTMENT (adjustment)' failed

It turned out to be an issue with the ebuild version of apvlv, butI still have a specific epub file that opens in zathura, but in apvlv, will not display chapters or allow me to flip pages.
