@esaruoho - Is it possible to offer "Hide Help" and "Show Help" as mappable shortcuts?

Yes - this could be added - though I might wait until I know the shape of the refreshed help system. For now, you can generally use Escape to close the help, if it's open. Increasingly you'll also be able to float the help panel into its own window, which is useful if you have a second monitor - the ⧉ icon.
