I assume yes - but need to be sure of this as we would like to have this recorded continuously during the experiment not just when 'inside' trials...

I was imagining the encoder to be connected directly to the Harp board. I guess you could split the wires to a parallel DAQ, but not sure if this is what you mean.

Assuming we are using the Harp behavior board, we will be able to record both continuously and inside trials.

Continuous recording outside of trials has not been addressed yet.
