'Synchronizing with Thunderbird' has instructions that have since changed- #8123

https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/19/user_manual/pim/sync_thunderbird.html says

When they are installed, if you are on Windows, go to Extras/Synchronisation settings (TBSync) or Edit/Synchronisation settings (TBSync) if on Linux

where the 'Extras' option in the menubar (it should be more specific about the menubar, I initially looked through TBSync's settings to find it) has now been renamed to 'Tools'. The instructions should probably say something like 'When they are installed, if you are on Windows, in the menubar (or hamburger menu of the main Thunderbird UI as the menubar is not enabled by default) go to Tools/Synchronisation settings (TBSync) '...

It is out of date, the Lightning calendar does not even exist any more as a separate add on (it is now intergrated with Thunderbird).

With my locale setting, it is still in extras. Even if I change the Menu languages, the top menu remains in the system's language.

Then maybe the docs could just mention that the setting is in the main menubar/hamburger menu? On my first try, it took me a while to think of even looking in the menubar - I was searching in the addon's settings. Hence the confusion (since my menubar didn't even have an 'Extras' menu)

It seems, that instructions regarding Thunderbird are very outdated generally - see note on: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Nextcloud#Thunderbird Would it be possible to rewrite this section to be current please?

Would it be possible to rewrite this section to be current please?

Sure, you can even do it yourself

On Thunderbird 102 the reccomended addons are disabled 'cause incompatible.

The link to edit the page is broken: https://github.com/nextcloud/documentation/edit/master/user_manual/pim/sync_thunderbird.rst. Get a 404 error.

Try this one: https://github.com/nextcloud/documentation/edit/master/user_manual/groupware/sync_thunderbird.rst (PIM was renamed some time ago to Groupware: https://github.com/nextcloud/documentation/pull/7633)
