Consolidate "rests" and "notes" #83

This is a request for a user-interface change. Rather than using space to
insert a rest, make the rest an attribute of what you're inserting, like
sharp, flat, or natural.

Making rests an attribute doesn't quite feel right to me, and it's less 
efficient to
boot.  Can you explain your reason for wanting this change?
