MMS not working #17

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Turn off 3G/EDGE/GPRS
2. Enable MMS
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I sent an MMS (a small picture) to 2 different numbers on different networks.
They never received
the message so I tried a regular text message and they got it.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

I downloaded and installed apndroid-2.0-logged1.apk for my Samsung Behold II

Please provide any additional information below.

Please download a new logged version, try to reproduce your problem and send a
log
for us. Mms enabling is rather new feature and apn filters are not ideal yet.
On page http://code.google.com/p/apndroid/wiki/doesNotWorkHelpPage you can find
instruction about gathering a log and sending ir to us.

Right now, the 'Enable MMS' button click itself does nothing. It just sets the
preference for later action. This preference is used my main On/Off toggle. So
try to
change the order in which you do this:
1. Enable MMS
2. Turn off 3G/EDGE/GPRS
I am closing this one, feel free to reopen if I misunderstood the report.

I have a similar but not identical problem, but they may be related. If not,
please
let me know and I'll make a new bug report.

Internet is turned off fine - great so far! The problem is that MMS stops
working,
even though its (separate) setting are correctly left alone. It seems that the
type
of the Internet APN has to be "Internet", or else my phone (Samsung Galaxy)
uses it
for MMS as well. At least manually resetting the type (to "Internet" makes MMS
work
again. Internet is still disabled, so maybe there could be an option to not
change
the APN types?

Does the type names really have to change? Does it not suffice to change the
APN address?

Hello !
got the same problem on my spica android 2.1 running APNdroid 2.1.3
MMS won't work when apndroid is off, but MMS option is turned on.
my APN is mmsbouygtel.com (MMSC : http://mms.bouyguestelecom.fr/mms/wapenc)
There is only 1 APN in my phone and the APN type is internet+mms (APNdroid
turned on, off course ^^)
Exept MMS problem, Internet is turned off/on fine.
Thank you for your work !
