A Power BI Visual that allows users to create simple waterfall charts just by using measures. The standard waterfall chart isn't design to create multi step waterfall and requires the underlying data to be in a particular layout. You can create multi step waterfall. This is very useful in Finance report where you need to create causal reports.

Formatting Incompatibility between Simple Waterfall and Calculation Groups #93

First of all, Simple Waterfall is a great PBI visual and thanks for the hard work!

I have a PBI report with a page showing waterfall chart using Simple Waterfall visual as Fig.1 below. The Data is from a measure and the data labels are formatted in percent with the PBI Formatting tools for a measure because there is no percentage formatting options in the Simple Waterfall. I have another visual using Tabular Editor Calculation Groups. When I tried to format any calculation item in the Formatting String Expression section, however, the waterfall chart lost the format as shown as Fig. 2. Is this an incompatibility issue between Tabular Editor and Simple Waterfall visual? Is there a way to work around it?

This issue was also posted on Power BI Community Forum. Based on a question asked, I'd like to add that the formatting works if changing from Simple Waterfall to other type of visuals in Power BI, e.g. bar chart.

@richardzhang73 did you ever find a workaround or solution? This has happened to me as well even with the latest version of Power BI Desktop.
