Notifier blocks Camera in Android 2.2 #1148

I am running the code shown in the image below.

When I run it on a Nexus one (Android 2.2.2), only the Notifier alert is shown, 
the camera doesn't start.

However, the code runs fine on a G1 (Android 1.6). The Notifier alert is shown 
on top of the camera capturing screen.
