Is there a way to get a notification whenever there is a new post?

unfortunately, no. the frontend doesn't keep track of the backend activity (refreshing feeds).

adding one requires rethinking the UI/UX for presenting the updated data. which falls into a feature request, but as stated in https://github.com/nkanaev/yarr/issues/57 i'm hesitant to add it. sorry.
