Compare Lasker trawls to LM seines #74

The recent STAR panel report recommended the following (which is non binding):

(p21) Research Recommendations: High priority 1. Efforts to improve the AT survey should continue. This includes comparing species compositions between trawl and purse seine gears and between the Lisa Marie and NOAA white ships

Thus there is interest in conducting a formal analysis comparing night-time Lasker trawls with day- or night-time Lisa Marie purse seines.

Approximately 6 nights of dedicated comparative purse-seine and trawl sampling was conducted between Lasker and Lisa Marie during Leg 3 of the survey. Analyses are ongoing.
