Energy saver #36

It is interesting during long journeys mainly to be able to use an energy saver. That is to say leaving a black screen while taking the photo. This may seem strange at first, but in fact the framing is useless when the smartphone is fixed on a support either on a bicycle, in a vehicle or sometimes in pedestrian mode on the chest during hikes. Taking photos and using geolocation over long periods of time consumes energy and this mode is therefore very popular in general when you do not have a source of energy on hand.

This mode can also be associated with remote storage of the photos taken. Indeed, if you do not have the possibility of transferring a large number of photos at the end of a day, it could be interesting to 'empty' the storage memory to a temporary external medium for future transfer, and leave thus clearing the way for a new day.

The future transfer must be able to be done from the external medium to avoid reimporting the photos.

These methods are very useful during expeditions to areas far from all sources of energy and white areas.

I like the idea of an energy saver! One concern I have is that it's nice to check every now and then that it's still focused properly which a black screen prevents. However, a black screen is the best way to save battery...

Imo the remote storage could be extracted into a separate issue since it is a distinct feature.

We are considering a dedicated "save battery" option in the future menu, see https://github.com/nobelization/panoramax-mobile-app/issues/51 I believe it solve your problem, isn't it?
