This is a story about rebuilding Norway's (and Europe's) most popular weather service: yr.no. It's a story about a boy and his dog. It's a story about missteps, half steps, and leaps of faith into the unknown, churning storm clouds of technology change. It's also a story about the seasons, about how old things are new again, and about how we often end up right back where we started (almost!). Mostly, though, it's about the weather, uncertainty, and trying to predict which way the technology wind is blowing. Spoiler: the sun is always shining somewhere!
About the author
Alexander Pope is a Canadian male living in the Norwegian wilderness (Oslo). He works at NRK, enjoys long walks, book reading, and a good burrito. He is considerably less famous than his literary namesake (though well enough liked in some circles).
About the project
yr.no is an online weather service started in 2007 (wtf iPhone?!). beta.yr.no is the (as of this writing) upcoming responsively web designed, progressively enhanced, mobile-first (but not last), future friendly version coming to a device of your choice very soon.
