Hmmm given that you can tap a theme and instantly see it applied, is this really necessary? I suppose we could include a preview of what a status would look like in each theme, but I doubt it would fit well on mobile given the single-column format...

Given that there are ~15 themes I think taping on each of them to see the preview is not a nice experience.

I think showing the color of the header and that of the background would be enough.
Ah gotcha, so a small inline preview then. I misunderstood, but yeah that sounds like a good idea!
It's hard to know what to expect from a theme based just on the color next to its name: is that the background color, the accent color or something else?
Would be nice if there was a richer preview, like in the right side of the attached image (which is taken from https://blog.doist.com/introducing-dark-theme-for-todoist-4ad82e9d4792).
