@damithc Hi Prof, I found out that chrome's find function works, are we allowed to use chrome for viewing PDFs?
This is what is stated on the module website "The Browser should only be used to access LumiNUS. Accessing other websites (including the module website) is not allowed."
You can save a PDF copy from https://nus-cs2103-ay2021s1.github.io/website/se-book-adapted/print.html That one will not have ToC or page numbers but the search preview works.
@damithc My friend and I tried saving that file and it does not work in preview, so we are asking if chrome is allowed as a pdf viewer
It will be hard for invigilators to detect unauthorized website access if we allow students to open any PDF file in the browser. I'm afraid that rule has to stay.
The search still works, just that it doesn't tell you how many search results, correct? You can still cycle through the results by pressing the enter key repeatedly, right?
ok nevermind my friend told me that if exported as pdf from safari it is searchable
We'll be allowing the use of a browser to view the textbook PDF. But other PDFs should be viewed using a PDF viewer.
Does anyone know how to fix the search function on the pdf version of the textbook (preview on mac)
