Failure to parse names with s/o #883

Open nus-pe-bot opened 2 years ago

Indian users may have "s/o" in their names. However, the application parses "s/" as a scholarship flag. As a result, the name is incorrect, and any scholarships previously entered are deleted.

Input:

edit 1 n/Damith s/o Balakrishnan

Team's Response

Justification for downgrading from severity.Medium to severity.Low:

Foremost, our teams believes that the likelihood of the above scenario happening is very low. Moreover, TrackAScholar mandates only alphanumeric characters and spaces in the name field for the applicant. In the event of the above scenario, through the first round of verification by administrative staffs and with the guidance of the user guide, our users are able to switch to Damith son of Balakrishnan instead of Damith s/o Balakrishnan instead.

Hence, our group feels that this is not a very severe issue. But rather, it is a issue that appears only causes a minor inconvenience. The team will address this in more detail in further iterations.
