This is not a bug, but how flashcards fundamentally work: you don't enter what you think the answer is; instead you just think of the answer in your head and then compare that to the actual flashcard (and in spaced repetition mode you then enter how hard it was for you to remember).
Allowing the user to input what he thinks is the answer and comparing it to the actual answer would be impractical as anwers can get very long (and then it would be incredibly annoying for the user to input e.g. multiple sentences).
This is explained in the user guide and also in the screenshots you included: You are told to either press ENTER to reveal the answer of press q/quit to leave. You simply used the product incorrectly.

After successfully answering the question on the reviewing flash card a, there is no indication on whether answering the flash card is correct. This reduces the functionality of the product.
Even when the user answer it incorrectly, the user can indicate that the flashcard is easy for them.
