For the purpose of the feature, I believe being able to split the expense equally should not be the main purpose. Rather, I believe it should be being able to keep track of expenses. This is also with regards to the purpose of the product stated within the user guide, which states that the main purpose of the program should be to keep track of who owes who money.

Team's Response

We wanted to start small and implement simple features such as splitting expenses equally for our v1.0. As such, for early development, we wanted users to have the ability to split the bill equally in a convenient manner.
