Definition

Rate of transfer through a surface in contact with the atmosphere in an upward direction, positive values indicating a net upward flow into the atmosphere and negative values indicating a net downward flow from the atmosphere.

Additional information

We recently created a term for Net upward flux but our semantic model currently does not allow us to specify both the source and destination matrix. So we decided to create this new, more specific S06 code that makes the destination matrix explicit. The source matrix is defined in the P01 via the Matrix component.
