SIG Updates

• Roadmap RFC. We were aiming to get SIG acknowledgment the week of Dec 4 then start the RFC execution starting from December 12th, 2022, but discussion has picked up delaying our efforts to get this moving forward.

• Discuss with @chanmosq about release notes process. This will be a joint effort of sig-release working with sig-docs-community

Notes on the release process for docs:

1. Release notes
   • Start collecting key feature information from all sigs via a GH issue or PR. Must have a link to related PR.
   • Discuss with release stakeholders a general theme of the release notes. This is also used for marketing.
   • Improvement: Unify style of the release notes (e.g. Complete sentences, bulleted list, etc.)
2. Stabilizing docs
   • Cut a stabilization branch
   • Docs in development go to stabilization
   • Follows the same calendar as preparing the stabilization branch for code
3. Feature Grid
   • Ask all sigs
   • sigs use the webtool, then export json and create a PR
   • PR requires two approvals to get in
   • Challenge: Persistantly reminding people
