Hi @cmungall @balhoff
Any updates here? we are looking for 'defence gland' as seen in Phasmida
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=26500685
"The defence secretions are produced by exocrine glands which are located in the prothoracic segment [9, 11]. These glands are an autapomorphy of the taxon Phasmatodea [13, 14]."
Proposed definition:
name: defence gland def: "An exocrine gland from the prothoracic segment of insect that is involve in self-defence" synonym: "defense gland" EXACT [] relationship: part_of UBERON:6000017 ! prothoracic segment relationship: only_in_taxon NCBITaxon:7020 {source="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26500685"} ! Phasmatodea
And maybe also an 'arthropod femur' such as there is already 'UBERON:0003131 arthropod tibia' (xref: HAO:0001017)?
(There is currentyl none UBERON class with xref to HAO:0000327 femur)
The Arthropod anatomical ontology does not seem to be updated anymore, or maybe I am not able to find the new URL? https://code.google.com/archive/p/arthropod-anatomy-ontology/ Even looking for 'Common Arthropod Anatomy Ontology (CAAO)' does not allow to find a valid URL, as far as I can see @dosumis
(Sorry in advance if I am posting at the wrong place)
And 'arthropod accessory gland' as defined by HAO:0000078 (hymenoptera), but that also can be parent of FBbt:00004914 female accessory gland (Drosophila) (Neoptera) and of FBbt:00004959 male accessory gland (Drosophila) and may help to annotate Timema accessory glands
