Capsule is a fairly loose grouping. Following the FMA we make this a membranous layer. It isn't really intended for anything that has 'capsule' in the label (but a better definition is required).
I'm not sure a lagenar capsule is really a membranous layer? Maybe one of the ZFA curators could comment?
I'm assuming the motivation for this request is the fact that it's classified as 'anatomical cluster' and has no part_of relationships and hence floats to the top in Bgee?
As this class came to Uberon via TAO via ZFA I'd like to do this in a coordinated fashion with ZFA
I think the current axioms for otic capsule should inform us:
But I fear the skull may need a lot of work
We will start working on it. Looking at the def. it is defined from a skeletal perspective probably in collaboration with Wasila or Paula. It is composed of parts of bones so it must be part of the skeletal system. Found this reference which has some diagrams http://www.scielo.cl/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S0717-95022008000300001
The lagena seems to reside in the bulla.

Yes, Chris, exactly, I am tracking such issues Anne
adding these superclasses for now:
'part of' some cranium 'subdivision of skeletal system' surrounds some cochlea
r4112 in ext
Closing for now. Will reopen in ZFA issue contradicts anything
