Hello Obsidian Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to request your permission to contribute translations of the existing documentation into Chinese. As your repository is widely used by developers from various regions , I believe that providing documentation in multiple languages will enhance the user experience and increase the accessibility of your project.

Please let me know if Obsidian team are open to this idea, and if so, how you would like to proceed. I am more than willing to collaborate with other contributors to ensure that the CN translation are accurate and up-to-date. Additionally, I will be happy to provide ongoing support in maintaining the translated documentation as the project evolves.

It would be fantastic if you could provide some guidelines, steps, or collaboration models for us to work together on this. This way, we can ensure a smooth process and maintain consistency throughout the translated documentation.

Thank you for considering this request, and I look forward to your response.

Best regards,

Bon

We are working on establishing a process for this. Will update as soon as we have more to share!

Hello there ! I think that it could be easily configured using GitLocalize while keeping all translations inside the repo. Hope this helps !

Hello guys,

Do you already have anything about the translation process? I am interested on doing this for PT-BR geo.

Kind Regards Alexandre Fukaya

Hello, I started developing my first plugin for Obsidian, and while following the documentation in Brazilian Portuguese (I'm Brazilian), I noticed some very common translation errors that occur when using an API or similar solution. So, I thought about contributing by fixing these small errors. However, I noticed that there are two help documentation repositories: https://github.com/obsidianmd/obsidian-help, which has translations into various languages, and https://github.com/obsidianmd/obsidian-developer-docs, which is only in English.

What caught my attention is that the https://github.com/obsidianmd/obsidian-developer-docs repository seems more up-to-date on "development" topics than the https://github.com/obsidianmd/obsidian-help repository, which also contains a lot of documentation for developers, such as plugin development, which is what motivated me to explore this.

My question is, which repository should I focus my time on to contribute, both in terms of translation and other aspects that might be useful to the developer community?

I searched for something along these lines https://github.com/obsidianmd/obsidian-help/issues?q=is%3Aissue+translate, but I didn't find anything similar. I read the documentation at https://github.com/obsidianmd/obsidian-help/blob/master/en/Contributing%20to%20Obsidian/Translations.md, but it doesn't seem to address my question because it only talks about the translation of the Obsidian App and the translation of the repository itself.

Like our colleague @afukaya, I want to contribute to pt-br.

Thanks, Wellington Rogati
