API broken due to the googlez change? #166

unable to start a new timeline. Despite publishing spreadsheet persistent error both when I attempt to link via google drive or to paste link into timemapper. Whole Timemapper interface behaving wonkily, can't log in, half the time the URL won't load.

and re #164 tried this in every browser and multiple times, so I don't think it has been fixed. Tweeted it and others replicated the error

Agreed. Trying to troubleshoot with a student and none of the changes to the spreadsheet that she has made are populating. Her spreadsheet was uploaded a week ago, but when I tried to upload a copy of the spreadsheet, I got the same issue as ^^.

@professmoravec sorry to hear this has not been working. We checked yesterday and today and this all worked perfectly once you'd logged into Google Drive (following the prompt as per your second screenshot). Can you give more details on what's not working exactly. e.g. is that you cannot login to timemapper (via twitter) or you can't login to google drive?

@cyberdh it would be really useful to link to the timemap on timemapper that is not working so we can debug together.

thanks for getting back to me

so I'm logged in to google drive and the spreadsheet is published

when I go to time mapper and click log in I'm not even given option of how to log it, it simply redirects to this page

if I switch to another browser and go to time mapper (now firefox instead of safari) I'm only given option to log in via twitter and I still get the above page. I then am totally unable to return to the time mapper page

opening a third browser this time chrome and attempting to simply create a time mapper without logging in and creating it anonymously and THAT WORKED :)

So other than having to create in anonymously I don't have any problems. It seems to be at the login that things got all messed up for me!

Hi! Good news is that I figured out the student hadn't used ISO years for her data and that seemed not to be playing nicely with the API. Once we converted them, everything started working.

I will play around again with my own version of the spreadsheet, because I could not get that to load yesterday afternoon. Yesterday evening, everything seemed fine.

@professmoravec is it the twitter login that is not working for you?
