Classic Controller left stick miscalibration. #171

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
When attempting to use an emulator that supports true analog via Bluez IME, the
left control stick of the Wii Classic Controller will seem to show itself as
moving in two directions on its own. Use of the thumbstick does not generate
the desired directional movement.

What version of BluezIME are you using?
1.17 from Google Play, with the HID Enabler from this page.

What Android device do you have? Samsung Galaxy Nexus (Verizon) and Motorola
Droid X2. What Android version? 4.1 and 2.3.5, respectively.

What gamepad are you using? N64oid and Candy Apple

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load emulator and game
2. Enable gamepad in emulator settings
3. Attempt to use controller.

What is the expected output? Expected output was ordinary character movement.
What do you see instead? Character moving downward and to left by itself, no
ability to properly control.

Please provide any additional information below.

This has been tested with the original version of the Wii Classic Controller,
om both a Nintendo brand Wiimote RVL-003 and a Memorex brand Wiimote. The
issue occurs on both devices, which made use of Gamepad Enabler unfeasible to
use with for games like Shadowgun (as Gamepad Enabler relies on Bluez IME as
well, I think).

Yes, there are some classic controllers that require calibration, but so far I
have not been able to find the right command to request the calibration data
from the controller.

You can see issue #151, and if you can add something to that (e.g. try the
same), I will be happy to update Bluez-IME to work with calibration data.
