Open sudarshangc opened 4 years ago
@sudarshangc I have added the roadmap in your issue, please make sure that you mark the checklist as you go along with your mentor. You can comment on this issue for each week adding a link to your assignment (e.g. to your own GitHub repo, or google doc) and any notes that you want to keep a record of.
@sudarshangc, The project idea is amazing. So, What I understand is, the final output will be a web portal where mentors can list their projects and mentees can learn from working under them or mentees will list their project ideas and mentors will guide them. Am I getting it correct? By the way, I love product development so we can get in touch if needed.

Project idea: Project on connecting students to mentors in computational biology.
Welcome to OLS-1! This issue will be used to track your project and progress during the program. Please use this checklist over the next few weeks as you start Open Life Science program :tada:.
Before Week 1 (Jan 20): Meet your mentor!
[x] Create an account on GitHub
[x] Complete your own copy of the open leadership self-assessment and share it to your mentor
If you're a group, each teammate should complete this assessment individually. This is here to help you set your own personal goals during the program. No need to share your results, but be ready to share your thoughts with your mentor.
[X] Make sure you know when and how you'll be meeting with your mentor.
Before Week 2 (Jan 27): Cohort Call (Welcome to Open Life Science!)
Vision Statement: I will be working with both students of developing countries and experts in computational biology to connect them through a web-based platform for mentorship so that they get benefitted from the development of new skills which is lacking in developing countries.
This lesson from the Open Leadership Training Series (OLTS) might be helpful
Before Week 3 (Feb 3): Meet your mentor!
Before Week 4 (Feb 10): Cohort Call (Tooling and roadmapping for Open projects)
