I think the current WebGL code in simshady does not have a minimum distance (we had it in old versions but i think not in this one). So I'm also not sure what causes this behavior :S But it looks like an actual bug I think.
When looking at this vegetation I think it is not responsible for any shading. Is it maybe too close to the building?
