MicroWaveLinkBundler falls into a category of applications, which allow expressing a targeted configuration in a bit abstracted way and send all necessary requests to implement it on the device. It is preparing two existing IDUs for being connected by an additional pair of ODUs. The MicroWaveLinkBundler gets called with a ‘reference air interface’ and physical connectors of a planned parallel link. It instantiates the expected hardware for the ‘new air interface’, configures the additional AirInterface LTP alike the ‘reference air interface’, defines a co-channel group of type XPIC, activates XPIC on both AirInterface LTPs, expands the frame transport capacity also on the ‘new air interface’ and activates it. All necessary steps for expanding an 1+0 configuration towards a 2+0 XPIC configuration are coordinated and executed on the remote and the local side of an existing link. Alarms, which get raised during the process, get dealt with. After executing the MicroWaveLinkBundler both IDUs shall be well prepared for plug and play the additional hardware.
